iCloud, iOS5, and More Revealed Tuesday

No word on whether or not there'll be any new hardware showing up, but Apple's WWDC keynote will show off some new software. iOS5, the new digital streaming service iCloud and the new upgrade for OSX- Lion -will all be present and accounted for.

One little interesting tidbit, the Apple presentation will end just thirty minutes before Microsoft's e3 keynote begins. A little one-upsmanship from the iDevice king towards their longtime competitor?

How long do you think it'll be before there's an Apple presence at e3?

Edit: Wow, sorry guys and gals- the headline should have read 'Tuesday' and not 'Tomorrow' If we got your hopes up, many apologies.

Nintendo Download -- 'Dr.Higgins 1989' edition

Nice little update from Nintendo for this Memorial day-

The Virtual Console gets updated with the classic platformer, Super Adventure Island- and DSiWare gets the '80s movie-like Valet Parking 1989, a squad based shooter/comedy in The B-Team, and the self-explanatory House M.D. - Globetrotting.

Some good stuff for outdoor gaming on one of the biggest BBQ days in the good ol' US of A.

House of the Dead: Overkill Announced for the PS3

Not afraid of the PSN outages? Well how about a little House of the Dead? Overkill? Extended edition? Is that a lot of punctuation or is it just me?

PSN Store is Still Down

Although Sony's online PS store was to be once again operational today following the devastating hacker attacks from last month, it apparently wasn't to be. A brand new round of security breaches and virtual assaults have caused the grand re-opening to be further delayed- to when we don't know.

More as it comes in-

Nintendo Download -- 'ho hum' edition

Ninteno continues it's online offerings this week with a series of titles that are sure to not impress. When's the 3DS Shop open up again?

Duke Nukem is Golden

Duke Nukem Forever is one of the most highly anticipated games of all time, and now, after 10,000 years in development (our calculations) he's ready to come get some.

Yep, it looks like the former video game titan is finally ready to hit a release date. Cross your fingers?

King Arthur II Appears

King Arthur, the role playing wargame, is kind of like an arthouse flick. It's had little to no buzz or media coverage, and yet everybody seems to like it.

Well, after a ton of expansions, the sequel is finally here-

Valve Will Not be at e3

Confirming that the world as it stands today will more than likely get old and gray before we see another entry in the Half Life series of games, Valve Software has officially confirmed that they will not be putting in an official appearance at this year's e3.

So no new Left 4 Dead, no new Portal news, no Team Fortress stuff, and most importantly to about a billion fans of the game- no Half Life Episode 3, Half Life 3, or any combination of the words 'Half', 'Life', or the number '3' will be making any kind of showing at the e3 show.

Thanks for the update guys.

Gears of War 3 is Officially a Hit

And it hasn't even been released yet. For fans of the uber-popular shooter series, this isn't exactly news. After all, ever since it's intro, Epic Software's Gears of War has been one of the preeminent games of any type on Microsoft's console- even challenging Halo as the face of the console.

The third game in the series, which launches this September, has already broken one million global pre-orders which pretty much reassures the fact that this is going to be a big one.

Series' director Cliff Bleszinski had this to say about it:
“An overwhelming success – we can’t thank the fans enough,” said Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. “While the beta was a fun way to give players an early taste of our game, it also provided us with invaluable feedback to help us refine and polish ‘Gears of War 3’ to ensure it’s truly the culmination of the trilogy we promised to the fans.”

Check Out the Resistance 3 Box Art

Sony had commissioned artist Olly Moss to put together the packaging for the upcoming third game in their second most important FPS- Resistance 3. The fruits of his labor? This beyond cool, retro movie poster-type imagery-

It's a little bit of a risk, no doubt about it- after all, there's no guy with a big gun on there anywhere and the series' own signature piece of art (the Chimera skull) has indeed been messed with.

If you'd like to check out more of Olly's artwork, click right -here-. If you'd just like to see more of his R3 stuff, click right on through the break-

Nintendo Download -- 'Chrono Trigger' edition

One of the biggest and most beloved RPG's of all time hit the Wii's Virtual Console this week in Chrono Trigger. It's appeared on the DS before but this is the first time outside of the SNES the CT has been playable on a home console.

Maybe this is a portent of things to come? Maybe we're finally going to get a sequel? ...nah...

The PSN is Back!

Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! The Playstation Network is back!

Sort of.

It's really balky at this point and it's rolling out in stages so right now only the east and west coasts of the US are back online- but it's there. Guess that counts for something right?

Now, when you first log back in- after you get a 'down for service' message about a dozen times - you'll have to change your password.

Probably a good idea, no?

Modern Warfare 3 Details Leaked

In what has to be one of the biggest coups of all time, at least as far as gaming is concerned, gaming blog Kotaku has published what appears to be a complete content description for the as yet unannounced third entry in the Modern Warfare brand of Call of Duty games.

It's pretty in depth too- single player storyline, characters, locations, multiplayer info- even artwork! It's everything you could possibly want to know about one of the biggest releases of the year.

Kinect Sports Passes 3 Million in Sales

Heady numbers announced today by Microsoft place one of their key titles for the Kinect motion-controllerless platform in some rarified air.

Three million units moved since release is certainly nothing to sneeze at and most definitely puts the game right up there with the hardware in the 'win' column.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier Delayed Again

The next Ghost Recon, once scheduled for release in 2010, has been delayed yet again by developer Ubisoft. The team-based tactical shooter will now launch in quarter 1, 2012. Maybe.

Assassin's Creed Revelations Official Release

Here's the official revelation on Revelations, in it's entirety, direct from Ubisoft-

Assassin's Creed Revelations Confirmed for This Year

Despite some rumor that there wouldn't be an AC released in 2011, MCV is reporting that a fourth game in the hugely popular Assassin's Creed series from Ubisoft will be out this November. Assassin's Creed Revelations will cap off the 'Ezio' storyline and will feature not only the Italian landscape of the previous two games, but also the return of the series' original hero- Altair.

Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft's Montreal studio, adds that Revelations will have "lots of new features and some significant surprises". The game will be fully shown off at e3 this June, so get your glider ready.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Gets a Teensy Bit of New Screens

Just a little, because too much Deus Ex can be habit forming.

Mass Effect 3 Delayed

In a move that's becoming way too common of an event, one of the most anticipated games of the year has officially been moved into the next. Mass Effect 3 will now debut somewhere in the first quarter of 2012.

ME has a pretty solid formula, looks fairly far along already, and has a legion of fans who love the series more for it's narrative than it's gameplay- so perhaps the delay is for something technical?

Square/Enix Gets Dead Island

The Final Fantasy company has just picked up zombie melee-thon Dead Island for publishing in the US.

DI has garnered quite a bit of critical and public buzz thanks to it's incredible trailer depicting the early days of a zombie outbreak at a tropical vacation spot. It's violent, bloody, and chock full of hand to zombie combat- and now it's got a genuine big name company attached, what's not to like?

Dead Island is tentatively set for release this August for the Xbox 360, PC, and PS3

Nintendo Download -- 'Jaleco!' edition

Been a while since you've heard that name I bet. Jaleco made such classics in it's day- but perhaps it's greatest triumph was the amazing Rival Turf!. Who could forget that SNES celebration of all thing action, punching, and bandana-wearing? And now you can relive all those faded memories on the Wii's Virtual Console. The cost at 800 Wii points may seem steep, but can you even place cost on a classic like this?

Indeed...

Madden 12's Peyton Hillis in Action

The dog pound beat the dog pound-er (among other things) as Peyton Hillis is named cover boy for the latest edition of the mega-blockbuster franchise- edging out former dog fighter, the Philadelphia Eagles' Michael Vick.

To celebrate, EA has released some fresh screens- check 'em out post jump-
