Trapped Dead Goes Gold

Iceberg Interactive's innovative zombie RTS has reportedly gone gold and will soon be shambling onto PC's everywhere. To celebrate the occasion, they've released some new shots:

An RTS is an interesting twist on the increasingly stale undead theme which has mainly been relegated to shooters and action affairs. Trapped Dead looks like it might just have what it takes to bring a little life back to the genre.

Did Bing Really Steal Google's Data?

Kinda looks that way.

To put it in a nutshell, Google suspected that Microsoft's search engine, Bing, was leeching off of theirs by actually copying their search results by way of the Bing toolbar in Internet Explorer. The search giant noticed that there was an amazing amount of overlap between their own results and Microsoft's- red flags went up at multi-color headquarters.

So to test their theory, Google crooked the books and for the first time ever- manipulated their own search terms. They set up a nonsense page to be generated by a nonsense search that no one would ever search for out in the user land because it had no meaning whatsoever. Google employees then searched for the fictitious page from their own PC's at home for a few weeks using IE with the Bing toolbar installed.

Then they checked in on the result of their little experiment and sure enough, there was the page that meant nothing at the end of the search that meant nothing... on Bing. But here's the tricky part: Bing clearly states in their user agreement that they use end users searches to help make up their database. What that means is that Google can't actually prove any dirty pool went down, which sucks for them if this is true. What they can do though is finger-point. They can finger-point really, really, hard.

Anarchy Reigns Gets a New Character

Anarchy Reigns is the new multiplayer beat 'em up from Platinum Games and SEGA. The title, set for release this fall for the Xbox 360 and PS3, features at least one fighter that you probably know- Jack from the Wii exclusive MadWorld.

The other two are the cyber-ninja, Zero, and Sasha. Not sure what her job is exactly but she looks pretty tough with all that... whatever... flying around.

New Super Mario Bros Confirmed for 3DS

Iwata Asks is a little feature on Wii.com- Iwata Asks is also quickly becoming a hotbed of info for some reason. In the last month alone we've featured a story from the piece at least twice, and now a third time.

Shigeru Myamoto himself said so, in no uncertain terms:
So, in the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system.

PSN Update -- 'Bionic' Edition

Rad Spencer returns to action this week in Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2, but the robot madness doesn't stop there! We also get the 'PSOne Import Classic' that absolutely nobody associates with the PSOne- Mega Man 2.

Why not!

Also in the cards- Plus subscribers get Assassins Creed 2 Deluxe Edition and Pac Man CE makes it over to Mini land.

New Lord of the Rings: The War in the North Screens

Hopefully this upcoming Action/RPG will get the source material right. From these screens, it's looking good so far. What was the last good Rings game anyway? Return of the King on the Xbox/PS2?

Finally... The White iPhone 4

There are some rumblings about the release of the oft delayed white version of the iPhone 4. Now that we're nearing the Verizon launch of the device, those rumors are starting up again and it looks like a Q1 or 2 release is actually possible.

Releasing the white version now would actually make sense since there's a bigger event going on (new carrier). Perhaps it'll even be a Verizon exclusive? If you don't see it soon though- lets just say that the iPhone 5 isn't really all the far into the future at this point. Apple might just want to wait for that one.
