Kneel Before (Giant) Zod!!
Really interesting little story picked up by superherohype about the filming of General Zod in the Superman reboot- Man of Steel.
In a nutshell, Michael Shannon (the actor playing Zod) confirms the fact that Kal-El's nemesis will be motion captured and that director Zach Snyder said the final visual will be "so badass when we're done. Trust me, it's going to be wicked.'"
Now in earlier behind the scenes pics, Shannon was seen wearing a mo-cap suit with a giant pole coming up out of his back that stretched a good distance above his head. It easily doubled his height. We're left to wonder just what the final design of Zod will be. If he is, in fact, that tall- might this be a melding of the original Zod with the suit of powered armor worn by the second Zod (a Russian experiment in creating their own Superman) in the comics.
Either way, Zod's look is likely to be one of the big surprises held back until the film debuts. If there's anything more to tell in the meantime, we'll have it here.
