Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Crysis 2' edition

It's a good week for Xbox owners as the console not only gets the Bulletstorm demo but also lands an exclusive on Crysis 2. Both demo's are live right now.

But that's not all! There's also Breach  for Arcade and a load of 2k and Rockstar stuff on sale-

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Zombie Sale' Edition

Tons of sale items this week on LIVE, plus the usual assortment of demo's and arcade titles. Actually just one of each... so make that "plus the usual assortment of demo and arcade title"

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'X-Men' Edition

Xbox Live welcomed a true classic this week in the form of Konami's X-Men Arcade game. Also added was a classic PC game in the form of Quake Arena- and more upcoming sales then you can shake a Strogg at.

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Where's the Arcade?' Edition

The biggest question mark this week was the absence of any LIVE Arcade releases. Usually there's at least something. Anyway, there's a few good demo's to try out and a sale on "pet related items". Eh...

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Undead, Bloody, and Haunted' Edition

Halloween flavored update this week on LIVE as we get couple of ghastly Arcade titles and Undead Nightmare for RDR. The Hot Pursuit demo is up too if cops and robbers is more your thing.

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Already Dead Meat Quest' Edition

Some very good stuff this week for the LIVE faithful. Costume Quest, Super Meat Boy and the Fist of the North Star demo headline for me- and you?

Xbox LIVE Wrapup -- 'Slugbreaker' edition

So this week saw the release of Metal Slug XX, Aqua, the Backbreaker demo and a couple new games on demand. Pretty big week actually- not too shabby.

I've been waiting for Backbreaker for a while. The idea of a revamped Blitz-type game sounds great to me since I was always a fan of that series. Shame that there's no licensed teams though-

Xbox LIVE Update -- 'Ballad of Rocket Knight' edition

Not a ton to talk about here on LIVE this week.

Rocket Knight is out, which is great. The Rapture Metro pack for Biioshock 2 is available now too, and there's a nice discount being offered on Ballad of gay Tony for GTA4.

Read on for the whole week's worth of action...

Xbox LIVE wrap-up

Okay so I've renamed this weekly feature - think it makes a little better sense since it actually is a wrap-up of the past week's LIVE updates.

Yeah, yeah, I know... you don't care... *sigh*...

Free Stuff!!!
  • Modern Warfare 2 Night Vision Goggles for your Avatar- add this to your download queue NOW. The offer ends tomorrow.

Xbox LIVE update -- 'Perfect Dark' edition

That's really all you have to say about this weeks LIVE releases.

Tomorrow, Best Buy will have Modern Warfare branded 1600 points cards available for $17.99. I will be getting one. Then I will be getting this.

When PD first came out on the N64 I played it for about five minutes. I was still so wrapped up on Goldeneye that I bought and sold this gem of a game in what must have been about a week and a half. Ever since, I've been kicking myself over never having experienced it in all it's glory. Tomorrow, that will change.

I should also mention that Splinter Cell Conviction has a mighty fine demo up for download as well. That's gonna be a good one- there's some nice deals of the week too on original Xbox titles too.

Xbox LIVE update - 'nada' edition

Wow, crappy week for the online services.

LIVE had a bunch of lousy old Games on Demand, cartooney racer Scrap Metal, and the Sinclair Solutions pack for Bioshock. Weak week.

Xbox LIVE update -- 'Like Toy Soldiers' edition

When you hear 'Toy Soldiers', do you think of Martika or Sean Astin and Wil Wheaton?

Either answer is acceptable by the way. I had a friend who freakin loved the Toy Soldiers movie. Didn't care much for it myself- did like the song though. Hrm. That's slightly embarrassing isn't it?

But I digress, all that is neither here nor there as this post is about Toy Soldiers the Xbox LIVE downloadable title. The one that's getting better reviews than either of the above media ever got. Might want to check it out.

Xbox LIVE update -- 'The Misadventures of Duke Nukem 2K10' edition

This was a pretty healthy week for LIVE. We got PB Winterbottom, the MLB 2K10 demo, and the armory add-on for Borderlands. Not too shabby...

Xbox LIVE update -- 'Fighting Games a-GO-GO' edition

This week on LIVE had fighting, fighting, and more fighting.

The deal of the week featured three hand-to-handers with the Ninja Turtles (400pts), Marvel vs Capcom 2 (800pts), and an Invincible Tiger (800pts)- which sounds scary. I mean, a regular tiger is scary enough but an invincible tiger? Yikes.

Games-on-Demand also knuckled up with Street Fighter 4- but then blew the whole thing by putting Halo Wars up for sale as well. I guess there's mano-a-mano combat in there too it's just not the same...

I should be happy- I was running dry on cute ways to say 'fighting'.

Toy Soldiers - March 3rd!

Hey, forgot to mention in that X10 update that the absolutely amazing looking Toy Soldiers will be available for download on Xbox LIVE on March 3rd!

I'm super pumped for this one- Find out why here.

*Thanks to Major Nelson's blog for reminding me!

Xbox LIVE update - 'AvP is a Battlefield' edition

Live had a few nice little tidbits this week including the demos for Aliens vs Predator and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The Arcade title, 'Chime' also was released.

Chime is a puzzler that features some pretty well known techno music acts and is a purchase you can really feel good about since a whopping 60% of the purchase price goes to charity! That'll score you some mitzva points... Oh, and 'Splosion Man is the Gold Member's deal of the week-

Xbox LIVE update

Due to some email demand I'm going to try to update everybody on the LIVE content that was released in the previous week every Friday. Major Nelson is nice enough to list this stuff in his blog so I'll be compilig is all here for your perusal.

To kick things off we've got AC2's Battle of Forli, Halo Wars and Dead Rising on demand, and a deal of the week featuring everyone's favorite smarmy computer.

Enjoy.
