Ghostbusters 3 Official?

Series star Dan Aykroyd says that "Yes, we will be doing the movie and hopefully with Mr. Murray" (Murray has yet to read the script)

So the long awaited third film in the popular supernatural comedy series is at last, a 'go'. It's about time- Fans have been itching for a real threequel  for quite some time. The release of the Ghostbusters videogame last year (which did feature Bill Murray, by the way) was greeted enthusiastically by fans but was largely assumed to be the only way that a third adventure would get produced at all. There just seemed to be little to no interest in making an actual movie.

The game focused on the original team, still in their prime and in the year 1991, as they started a franchising scheme to bring in new members. It's unclear at this point if the movie will acknowledge any part of the game, which had been thought to be an 'official' part of the fiction.

Temple Bags Makes Some Awesome Stuff

I truly didn't know how better to word that headline. They're not cheap and they seem to sell out pretty regularly (so you might have to wait for the one you want) but watch this vid and tell me you don't want one right now. I dare you:

Razer Posts It's PC Gaming Manifesto

For some reason, Razer (maker of high-end PC gaming peripherals) has posted a letter on the virtual door of the internet. This Lutherian declaration of computer games is targeted straight at the console manufacturers of the world, says so right in the title.

More than likely, this is for a new product. The letter mentions that "will seek to end
the silence and bring a new age of openness and innovation to all gaming" on August 26th- but it's interesting to note that, while Razer rails in defense of of the PC side of the industry, it does so while it just began production on a series of console (specifically Xbox 360) control pads and headsets. Interesting indeed... click through to read the letter-

Review: Captain America (Xbox 360)

Given Sega's history with movie licensed games, particularly superhero movie licensed  games, it really wouldn't come as too much of a shock to me if the majority of gamers ignored their adaptation of Captain America. It might come as a shock to you though, that you shouldn't have swept the First Avenger away quite so fast.

The Mighty Fin for iOS Gets a Mighty Update

Mega adorable iPhone/iPod Touch game The Mighty Fin has now become mega adorable universal App The Mighty Fin. And that's not all- with 8 new levels and a massive 32 new costumes for the lil' guy, this is one beefy update. It's almost like getting a sequel as a 'thank you very much.' Well... it's free if you already own the game anyway. If you don't, you still have to pay for it.

But it's  only .99 and he's adorable! Cuter than Nemo, I say...

Gameplay Footage of PSVita's Resistance: Burning Retribution

The PSVita is already looking like it's going to be quite the little juggernaut on the portable scene. It's certainly got the hardware down, and the software that's been unveiled this week at the Gamescom show is shaping up to be equally impressive. Take Resistance: Burning Retribution for example.

When you watch the PS Blog's look at RBR below, you will be surprised- I can almost guarantee it -by some of the uses for the PSV's touch screen. Really, really smart stuff- watch... and be amazed!!1!

The Nintendo Download -- 8/18/2011

Nintendo continues to underwhelm with it's weekly 3DS downloads as the eShop welcomes Urban Champion 3D this week. UC, originally a NES game, has been given a 3D makeover in the spirit of Excitebike and Xevious. The only difference being that, while you probably remember those titles, you more than likely have only vague recollections of Urban Champ.

So it's new to you! Anybody remember that slogan? Ugh... read on for the full update-

The Avengers Let Loose on the Streets of Cleveland

Preeminent superhero movie lexicon, superherohype.com has a bunch of amazing shots from the set of the Avengers. Marvel's big boys hit theaters next summer with an as yet unknown villain opposing them.

The speculation is that Loki will be the main threat, something that fits with Marvel Comics lore- he was the first baddie they faced in the comics after all. But take a look at the pics and tell me if you don't get the feeling that there's something else going on too.

Maybe something a little more... alien?

Spoiler Images From The Avengers

Captain America on the Cleveland Set of The Avengers

Chris Evans is Captain America the same way that Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and  Christian bale is Batman. Turned out to be amazing casting.

The infection is spreading. The only way to stop it is with... cuteness?

The Game Bakers, a French developer that lists among it's members some pretty impressive (former Ubisoft Talent) talent whose credits include Splinter Cell and the Tom Clancy Series, has unveiled their first title- SQUIDS.

We'll have a look at SQUIDS when it releases later this Fall on PC, Mac, iOS, & Android, but it already looks like it might be a lot of fun. Full release is post break-

First Shot of Henry Cavil as Superman

It's been known that Henry Cavill (maybe best known as King Henry's pal on the Tudor's) had been cast as Superman/Clark Kent in Zach Snyder's reboot for a while now. We've even seen him in CK attire in some 'on set' pics a while back.

Now we're getting the main course to that appetizer, as Warner Bros has released the first look at Cavill in costume. Click through to see MTV's coverage of the Man of Steel.

Avengers Trailer Up Online

The teaser trailer for the Avengers that ran at the end of the recent Captain America film is now pretty much everywhere online. If you missed it, here's the link.

Just a note on the vid- I wouldn't watch it if you haven't seen Cap yet, there's some of the end of the movie patched in before the teaser starts.
